Full-wave modeling Realizes five modifications of the wave equation solution:
For a vertical wave propagation - allows to quickly
estimate the travel time and amplitude of the incoming reflected
waves under conditions of strictly vertical 1-D propagation
of the seismic energy. For a scalar medium model - considers only the distribution
of longitudinal Velocities and is the fastest way of modeling
2-D wave propagation. For an acoustic medium model - uses only distribution
of longitudinal Velocities and promptly estimates 2-D wave
effects of the seismic energy propagation in a real geological
situation. For an elastic medium model - allows precise modeling
of the 2-D propagation of the seismic energy, as well as the
effects of converted and shear waves in a solid media. For an elastic anisotropic model - it is a version
of the elastic wave equation. The difference in physical properties
in vertical and horizontal directions (where it is certain)
is considered. This formula allows the users to approximately
estimate the effects of anisotropy in the environment.
Each computing formula can include two additional modes: 1)
Absorption of the wave energy, allows you to do an
estimation of the absorption of seismic energy by the medium.
2) Generates a field of the first arrivals which provides
additional information of the seismic wave field. Modes of sources. Exploding reflector and surface modeling allows the user to obtain a quick approximation of the seismic time section.
